Imaginary Nigel Mansell. I was off my tits on drugs some years back and imagined I was talking to him. Even in imaginary form his ego was massive.

If we can Allow this then I have an Impressive list.

The Predator, whilst paralyzed led on the floor in my yard.
I was dissolving into the concrete patio, he circled me around 5 times, which felt like a lifetime or two.

Michelin Man (big dude made from tyres)
Yep saw this guy waiting for a train to Lostock Hall I swear.

The Chuckle Brothers @ Wigan Pier (Friday night 1996 sometime)
Pretty sure this was real though ;

Also met the devil once, pretty sure i made a deal, its bugged me for years and I still cant recall what we agreed too.
---

When Sober Ive me a few professional Snooker players, and been beaten on every occasion (John Parrot, Ian McCullough, (rest of Local Pros)

Ricky Tomlinson, Freddie Star. I didn't speak to either much, In Fact I felt sorry for Ricky, was at a musical festival and he was being constantly stopped, interrupted. I gave the nod, left it at that. Strangely enough thats about 3rd or 4th time paths have crossed.

Bumped into Jude Law once, and seen a few other famous faces around that area.
Fame sucks, unless you are addicted to attention from the masses. Which I don't think is a healthy thing anyway, unless that person is fighting the good fight.

The £24 has been worth several times over. I've got what I wanted - heck, even last night there was superb racing in the B2R server... Leaving LFS for GT5? I think not.

Heres a Replay from last night Silver.

Quote from majod :i can't even imagine what it will be like to find out one day that the patch is released...

Then I think the parts of the community that have been been moaning quite vocally should offset the bulk of crap in this thread and actually contribute something constructive, and learn to actually keep on topic.

I'm not feeling my normal self today , off work (nothing to do with CoD:BO)
Just lack of sleep and manflu. So bear with me if this post seems a little o.0

btw if everyone would leave their principles(i cant play lfs without a new patch) behind and would start playing again, it could be just like 2007

Damn right, forget the childish selfishness that they wallow in here, get in your favourite car and drive. Emotion is transfered from person to person, knowingly or not.
Online racing community much different then the negative naysayers in this forum community as dagde so eloquently stated.

For me LFS the quality it delivers online Has never changed from the vibes i had in 2003 2004 2005 (ok 2005 that was very good year) 2006 etc etc.

Its a state of mind ladies & gentlemen, the sooner you realise this for yourselves the better it will be for the everyone, yourself included.
We all make things what they are, from this community to the ones with your friends and family.

Sure the servers have changed, dont get stuck joining the most populated servers, thats a common mistake. Cargame is a Glorifed CTRA (which like a few other longtime racers/admins will agree, fragmented the community.
Join the less populated ones, make it point to try a new server each week.
But the thing what gets me is why you think LFS is boring.
You say its the combination available to drive, but this has always been the case since s2 (so much more choice) Yet people like to join the busiest (usually same old same old multi-class crash fests)
When the best racing experiences takes usually just one other driver
Some of the best racing I have ever exeperienced is with small grids short sprints, with equally matched racers in skill and mind.
Maybe alot of the old crew you raced with gave up and left? I know how that goes.
I Raced for dSRC from just after conception through the amazing times (2005-mid 2006) till 2007 where i left to regain my bearings at that time most of the team had the negative mindset regarding LFS, and I didnt.
So later on I joined a Team I admired since I Was a demo racer and just starting out in LFS.
Team Inferno, Like dSRC they had been at the very top along with mercury, when it came to reputation, but this team too had problems, I enjoyed my stay their but never really succeed in acomplishing anything in terms of racing.
But I hope I helped others find a passion for LFS again, maybe yes, maybe no.
Now I am racing for R2R and let me say this now, I feel like its 2005 again with this team, I feel within this team a great spirit of positivity and skill.
Its just a shame they all seem to be french (mostly)

Its a state of mind my fellow racers, I am lucky I guess, I dont get bored easily, sometimes even staring at a plain wall can create thought you never dreamed of, even though you were just staring at a blank empty canvass.

We are Forever people right?

Maybe he is asking if there is any in-game or packet indication of your car slipstreaming getting draft or a tow?

If that is the question, then i do not know if there is an answer.
*keen eye on the g-meter might give clues*

Instead of restriction alone try 3% and a little weight penalty.
6% is about the limit i think before the FXO really starts to struggle.
Takes a very good FXO driver to keep up XRT and RB4 with that amount.

Quote from March Hare :Had a go on LFS today after a loooong break.

Tried to race. Drifted some coming too hot into corners. Swapped paint. Passed some. Got passed.
Basically had fun.

LFS is great. I only wish we had some muscle cars...

FZ50 Fits this description quite well. Quite a brutal car, but very rewarding.

I'm still hooked to this class of car, although I did recently enjoyed the GT2 Class, Which for myself was quite an odd experience.
Back to TBO though. There was some nice racing tonight at Fern Bay Green for 40 minutes and one last punishing lap at R4R TBO Server A full grid just about again managed to turn out too

Quote from JohnPenn :Hot lapping the same track over and over gets boring, racing the same track with good drivers NEVER gets boring. for me.
The car and track is an afterthought as long as everyone is driving the same car and you have good admin... thats LFS at its best for me.

Sure is Ive been saying this for years. Once your in the racing seat, and fighting hard for position, all the moaning thats generated here, is at once totally irrelevant. All that matters is overtaking that car

Demo is what brings the majority here, Its why I have a S2 license.
I know a great deal of people that played the demo for around 6-12 months, some quite a lot, some play it longer some shorter. LFS didn't grab me straight away. It took around 9 months (and even then i downloaded a torrent)
And even with my l33t hax0ring skills i could not crack it.

Also its from a team of 3 developers, no major publisher, on-line purchase only. This would put a few people off to begin with and time limited even further, I know I was a little dubious. What sold me was LFSworld and the games integration, all those stats, history etc etc <3.

EQWorry all 3 points quite valid and some nice ideas. Demo LFSWorld Support is I think or should be a premium feature.

anyway... carry on>

Quote from Busta :I havent followed LFS forum for more than a year now and i can see that nothing has changed since then. Too bad.

If you mean, for example you joining R4R TBO/GTi Server and being beaten, then yes (hi btw)
*but i guess theres no racing on forum*
*ediit* no2

But all depends what you mean, If you mean the attitude in forums? or LFS physics progression?
If you read back, but i assume you have already done this and seen some of updates from Scawen.
But nice to see old racers keeping tabs.
Sorry if original post sounded harsh, just sat on-line waiting for some action.

Quote from cargame.nl :What I'm trying to tell is that you can upgrade the handling of this game and probably attract more players but that only worsens online day to day racing because most people don't actually know how to race.

Cruise servers are more populated these days then normal race servers (if you don't include demo), I think that says a lot.

No it doesn't.

Quote from arco :Why copy it? Wouldn't it be better to choose not to do it, and keep your self-respect and the respect others have for you? You say people are regulary using it online? That means they use it in leagues as well? Shame on them then.

Using this exploit/profiler setting takes the "skill" out of it, the "reward", the whole "point" of using manual.
